Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
- The Senior Operations Manager leads local operations in Tanzania, overseeing driver engagement, supply-demand balance, rider acquisition, marketplace efficiency, and platform safety. Reporting into regional leadership, this role manages mission-critical KPIs to scale Bolt’s mobility ecosystem sustainably across Tanzanian cities.
- Driver Engagement & Supply Retention: Lead driver onboarding, activation, and loyalty initiatives; build data-driven retention programs aimed at maintaining >90% month-over-month (MoM) supply retention and reducing churn.
- Marketplace Performance & Economics: Optimize the balance between supply and demand to reduce ETAs and trip cancellations; maximize finished rides while ensuring compliance with pay-back and IRR targets.
- City Operations & Strategy: Direct city-level operational performance, eliminate execution bottlenecks, and launch localized growth strategies in coordination with central HQ teams.
- Rider Growth & Demand Generation: Partner with Marketing to drive active rider acquisition, increase rides per user, improve Lifetime Value (LTV), and launch new product categories.
- Safety, Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Lead platform safety initiatives with regulatory authorities (e.g., LATRA), government stakeholders, and law enforcement; ensure strict tax reporting and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Work Experience:
- 9+ years of progressive operational leadership experience within mobility platforms, high-growth technology marketplaces, logistics, or operational consulting.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale marketplace operations, driver/supply networks, or logistics ecosystems.
- Analytical & Technical Mastery: Advanced data analysis capabilities with expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strategic & Execution Skills: Deep understanding of unit economics, supply-demand mechanics, customer acquisition costs, and operational risk management.
